Donation to the Puçol Museum Foundation
Once again, we are collaborating with the Puçol Museum Foundation in Elche. Up today, the project has trained nearly 500 schoolchildren, has over 1,750 donors, and has generated, over four decades, a School Museum with more than 100,000 items covering all aspects of ethnology: agriculture, commerce, industry, folklore, traditions, and more. The Puçol School Museum of Traditional Culture is an institution that possesses unique and previously unpublished ethnographic and environmental collections, the product of continuous educational, museological, and scientific activity dedicated to rescuing and restoring the cultural and natural heritage of the city of Elche and the unique and extensive agricultural landscape that surrounds it, the Campo de Elche. The Puçol School Museum of Traditional Culture received its highest recognition in 2009 when it was inscribed by UNESCO as a Good Practice for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, becoming Elche’s third World Heritage Site. That same year, it received awards such as the Europa Nostra Award and the Medal of Cultural Merit from the Valencian Government. Subsequently, it received other important recognitions such as the Bimil·lenari Medal (2011), the Ibero-American Prize for Education and Museums (2014), and the SICTED distinction (2016). Currently, the project has trained hundreds of schoolchildren, has more than 1,750 donors, and has collected more than 100,000 pieces related to traditional culture. It has thus established itself as a unique institution dedicated to the conservation, research, and dissemination of the cultural and natural heritage of the Elche countryside. They do a great job preserving the cultural heritage of our region.
Have a good day!
